Psychotherapeutic Services
Psychotherapeutic services at IIP include individual and group therapies that are empirically proven across the world and indigenously woven into the matrix of native culture. A comprehensive bio psychosocial diagnosis precedes almost every intervention. Some of the specific interventions we offer are as follows:
Child Psychotherapy
Children who have experienced trauma/abuse or witnessed abuse and/or intimidation or experienced upsetting events like the loss of a loved one including parent, sibling, home, etc. may need psychotherapy support to cope with such issue/s.
Besides IQ assessment of children, we also carry out comprehensive specific learning difficulty assessment and thereby providing tailor-made interventions to enhance children’s academic as well as life skills.
Adolescent Psychotherapy
Adolescents today face the increasingly complex task of integrating their psychological needs for affiliation and connection into a limited number of emotional resources and an increasingly rigid definition of success. This leads most of them to anxiety, depression and addiction; and in turn making it difficult for the adolescents to identify and/or verbalize their feelings or needs clearly.
Adolescent psychotherapy at IIP attends to the biological, sociological, and psychological changes that characterize this stage of development while integrating the past and present impact of systems (e.g., family, school, community) and sociological factors (e.g., race, class, ethnicity, gender) that form the unique circumstances of the adolescent’s struggles.
Individual Psychotherapy
Individual psychotherapy is a process through which clients work one-on-one with a trained therapist in a caring and confidential environment. This process can help people to explore their beliefs, thoughts, feelings and behaviours to work toward desired change. People in therapy can learn psychosocial skills to cope with and/or overcome tough situations, making healthy decisions, and attaining desirable goals.
Individuals seek therapy for diverse reasons, from dealing with a major life challenge or childhood trauma, to address depression or anxiety, to simply desiring greater self-knowledge and personal growth.
Couples Therapy
At IIP, our experienced couple therapists provide therapy to couples to gain profound insight into their relationship, resolve conflict and to improve the quality of their relationship while utilizing a variety of therapeutic interventions.
Family Therapy
Family therapy majorly addresses dysfunctional family dynamics that affect the psychological health of each and every family member. The distinctive feature of family therapy at IIP is its perspective and analytical framework grounded on the family system that improves communication, problem-solving, coping skills, and also enhances family members’ sense of connection to one another.
Group Therapy
Group therapy helps people to accomplish a common goal with insights of many. A group member seeing others who go through the same thing feels less alone. By witnessing a member successfully coping with a problem, other members of the group become hopeful of recovery. Group therapy setting allows group members to rehearse actions/behaviours within the safety and security of the group.
